About Me

What is the value of an untouched rain forest? How will the world’s marine protected areas look like in 2100 under the effects of climate change? What are the impacts of Covid-19 on global fisheries? These are some of the interesting and difficult questions that I get to tackle every day.

I am an economist, specializing in environmental and natural resource economics. Currently, I am a postdoctoral fellow with Ocean Nexus Center at University of Washington’s EarthLab. This is a 10-year collaboration with The Nippon Foundation, a global leader in bringing together justice and sustainability to the oceans for future generations. EarthLab works to translate science into actions. While my home base is Dalhousie University with Dr. Megan Bailey, my colleagues span over 10 time zones across the globe.

I hold a PhD in Applied Economics from Oregon State University and a BBA in Economics from City University of New York – Baruch College.
